I am a twenty-six year survivor of oral cancer. The five surgeries and one round of radiation therapy that I have had over the years have given me a very personal view of this disease. Oral cancer is one of the cancers whose five-year survival rate has not improved much in the last thirty years. I am a very fortunate individual to still be here twenty-six years later. I see firsthand what many head and neck patients at Roswell deal with on a daily basis (quality of life issues among them). The Head and Neck Clinic at Roswell is a true treasure.
