New event in support of The Ride For Roswell allows riders to raise money and avoid snowy training

Buffalo, NY – The Ride for Roswell will hold the
all-new Ride Spinning® Event in partnership
with the Buffalo Athletic Club and World Gym on Saturday, March 13, 2010. The Ride
Spinning® Event is designed to encourage current and prospective riders to adopt a healthier lifestyle and
gives indoor cyclists the opportunity to fundraise for the Roswell Park Cancer Institute during the winter.


Participants will have the option to cycle individually or with a relay team. Individual cyclists can choose from 1-2-3 or 4 hour time durations, or relay participants can ride for one hour each. Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraising relay team and individuals.


The following locations will be participating:


  • BAC Eastern Hills - 4687 Transit Road, Williamsville, NY 14221
  • World Gym - 5110 Camp Road, Hamburg, NY 14075
  • *Participants do not have to be members of the BAC or World Gym to participate.
Registration for the event is $10, with a minimum of $50 in pledges per cyclist. Participants are encouraged to ask family, friends and co-workers to sponsor them with all money going to find a cure for cancer at Roswell Cancer Institute.


This event is also a great opportunity to learn more about The Ride For Roswell. In its 15th year, The Ride is Western New York’s largest single-day cycling event. It is a safe and healthy day of cycling fun for riders, teams, cancer survivors, and supporters. The 15th Anniversary Ride For Roswell will take place on Saturday, June 26, 2010. In 2009, 8,500 cyclists, volunteers and supporters raised $2.3 million at The Ride
for Roswell.

About The Ride

The Ride For Roswell is an annual celebration of community support for Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Its core mission is to understand, prevent and cure cancer.
The Ride is a year-round fundraising program for the Institute that culminates in a celebratory cycling event every June. It is a safe and healthy day of cycling fun for riders, teams, cancer survivors, and supporters.

The Ride For Roswell offers a distance for any type of rider. Participants can choose to ride from eight routes this year! Either choose a traditional route that starts from Baird Point -- the 100-mile, 62.5-mile, 44-mile, 33-mile, 30-mile, 20-mile, 8-mile routes or The 3-mile Family Fun Route-- You can also join the Extra Mile Club Peloton: only 12-miles from Roswell Park to UB.
