The Chapel bike ministry will be starting weekly rides in early April!
What could be more fun that getting some fellowship, fresh air, exercise, and being a tour guide as an outreach?
Stay tuned for details.

I am looking forward to those training rides Jeffrey! I used to think that I didn't need the training rides and then I did one. There are so many interesting things and perspectives that I have learned on rides. Thanks for heading this up!! Are the training rides for all abilities?

Thanks for asking Terry. The training rides are absolutely for riders of all abilities. we will have at least 3 routes planned, all leaving from The Chapel at the same time. The casual riders will have a simple out-and-back route along the bike path of Tonawanda Creek. That way they can bite off as much or as little as they want to chew. They just look at their watch and turn around when they get to 45 minutes. All routes are designed for approximately the same finish. I may also do a clinic on how to be safe riding on the road if there is interest.

What does everyone think about working in some bike maintenance tips into the training rides? Gear adjustment, tire repair, things to have in your repair kit etc. etc?

It would be really awesome if everyone could post a picture to their profile. I'm horrible with names but a face I will never forget.

I like your idea of having some time set aside for some basic bike discussion Terry. We can call it the "nuts and bolts" of biking or something. If we spend 15 minutes on it each week we could cover some good material. What should we have for our first topic? (I need a response from everyone here)

I sure hope we get some good weather this Saturday for the training ride. We've been weathered out the past two. :-) It is Spring, right?
