Virtual Riders?

We've used the donation boxes on the properties in Second Life as a way to generate funds, but those donations are cashed out and submitted under Shujin's name each year (with an earmark as "Second Life Donations"). We've always been cool with this, but we've never gone as far for the fundraiser as we're going this year.

Do you think we should do more to encourage the "Virtual Rider" part of the R4R program? It would require folks to go out and solicit donations in their own communities of at least $100, but it would allow them to take an even more active role in raising funds for the R4R. However, it would also open up the opportunity for fraud, and would require people to share RL information, which many Second Life residents are not up to doing.

How do you feel about this? Should we make Virtual Ridership a bigger part of our Second Life fundraising, or should we keep things as they are?

Thanks,
Paul/Aaron

Official Ride Recognition!

The Ride Staff will soon be adding your teams story as a legitimate fundraising initiative which is occurring in the second life. As one of the official Co-Chairs for the Ride for Roswell I am very excited about what your team is doing and am willing to help out in any way to help with your success. If anyone in the second life would like to send me a direct message related to the ride please let me know. Every year I look forward to seeing Michael and his beautiful daughter at the ride events. It is stories like his wife's that keeps me wanting to fight the fight.
