RideConnect

Hi, I am a dietitian at Roswell and I will be helping all the riders for 2010 with managing their nutrition. I am also a diabetic educator (maybe some of you are diabetics) and have been a personal trainer and fitness instructor with AFAA-Aerobics and Fitness Association of America for more than 20 years. My husband and I have done many endurance events; he is a marshall at The Ride who may have helped you with a flat or a scrape. Hi Jeff!
I'll be posting some info on Ride Connect to help get you motivated and aid your performance during training and on ride day!
For starters, the ride is six months away....as you wrap up the holidays, remember your total fat intake should be 25 - 30% of your total calories. For men, that translates to 70 - 75 grams a day and for women it is 55 - 60 grams a day. Start thinking about keeping it in check and start spinning on the indoor bike...training rides begin in a few months. In fitness and moderation, Margaret (Peg) Meissner MSRD CDE AFAA trainer

About The Ride

The Ride For Roswell is an annual celebration of community support for Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Its core mission is to understand, prevent and cure cancer.
The Ride is a year-round fundraising program for the Institute that culminates in a celebratory cycling event every June. It is a safe and healthy day of cycling fun for riders, teams, cancer survivors, and supporters.

The Ride For Roswell offers a distance for any type of rider. Participants can choose to ride from eight routes this year! Either choose a traditional route that starts from Baird Point -- the 100-mile, 62.5-mile, 44-mile, 33-mile, 30-mile, 20-mile, 8-mile routes or The 3-mile Family Fun Route-- You can also join the Extra Mile Club Peloton: only 12-miles from Roswell Park to UB.
If you can't ride that day or want to simply fundraise and join us at the picnic, become a virtual rider!
