Hi Peg! So what should I eat before jumping on my bike? Lets say before a one hour work out.

Hi Herb, Good question. Before you exercise, it's important to consume foods or beverages that are really easy to digest (little to no fat, or fiber) such as carbohydrates as 30 - 60 grams in the hour before.
Examples are: a bottle of regular gatorade, a slice of white toast with a Tablespoon of jelly or honey, a sports gel, 8 oz of juice, 1/2 deli bagel with jelly or honey...If you want to eat a larger meal with fat and protein, it should be consumed 2 - 4 hours prior or it will be sitting in your stomach during the hour-long workout.
What's more important, is how you eat on a day to day basis, what you consume during workouts lasting more than 1 hour and ...... post workout out recovery foods. We'll talk later, Peg,

About The Ride

The Ride For Roswell is an annual celebration of community support for Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Its core mission is to understand, prevent and cure cancer.
The Ride is a year-round fundraising program for the Institute that culminates in a celebratory cycling event every June. It is a safe and healthy day of cycling fun for riders, teams, cancer survivors, and supporters.

The Ride For Roswell offers a distance for any type of rider. Participants can choose to ride from eight routes this year! Either choose a traditional route that starts from Baird Point -- the 100-mile, 62.5-mile, 44-mile, 33-mile, 30-mile, 20-mile, 8-mile routes or The 3-mile Family Fun Route-- You can also join the Extra Mile Club Peloton: only 12-miles from Roswell Park to UB.
If you can't ride that day or want to simply fundraise and join us at the picnic, become a virtual rider!
